Ahead of its 9th Annual General Meeting, the Micro-Credit Association Ghana (MCAG) has made cash and items donations to the Catholic Special Vocational School in Fijai, Takoradi.

Among the items donated are learning materials, food and drinks, toiletries, mattresses among others.
According to the Chairperson of the association, Mrs. Regina Kumi, the activity is very necessary as it is in line with their major objective of reaching out to the economically-deprived, supporting them with loans to facilitate improved conditions of living.

She also stated that the activity was a core initiative of the members of the association and as such wholly funded by them.
Madam Rose Margaret Kwofie, the caretaker of the school expressed her most profound gratitude for the great initiative taken by MCAG. She reiterated that lots of the items they have provided is opportune and provides solutions to some needs that have been lingering for a period of time. She then appealed to the government, individuals and various stakeholders to come and support them with expansion of the centre, help construct their road; as the road is a major drawback to the operations of the centre during rainy seasons.
Autism is a serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact combined with rigid, repetitive behaviours.

The Catholic Special Vocational School has been in existence for over ten years with the primary aim of equipping autism children with vocational skills in beads making, basketry, kente-making among others.
