Susu Collectors Unions’ have to be business focused –Managing Consultant, CDC Consult

The Managing Consultant of CDC Consult Accra, Mr. Ernest Dzandu has encouraged stakeholders of the Greater Accra Co-operative Susu Collectors Society (GACSCS) at their recent Annual General Meeting which took place on June 27, 2018 at Adabraka, to be business-focused.

Speaking on the theme “The Role of Susu Collectors in Ghana’s Economy”, he emphasized that the union has to be business-focused in order to remain relevant to their customers and the country at large. The Susu Collectors he believes have a major role to play in Ghana’s Economy.

According to Mr. Dzandu, “It is societies and unions who agrees to become irrelevant”. And for this reason a Union that is ready to be relevant and still serve its purpose has to keep its integrity intact, build more convenience for customers, partnering and collaborating with other unions, and rechecking its business module.

Adding to what Mr. Dzandu laid out earlier, the General Manager of the Ghana Co-operative Susu Collectors Association, Mr. Obed Yaw Asamany in an exclusive interview with Microfinance Watch TV, also revealed that the Association is accessing funds from the MasterCard Foundation to pursue a digitalization agenda which will improve upon the existing Payment and Deposit collection System. The Official Launch of the digitalization is stipulated to take place at Kumasi in the second week of July.
