Ahantaman Rural Bank has inaugurated its new Tanokrom branch office in Takoradi on Friday, 20th July, 2018 ahead of their 30th Annual General Meeting. The Tanokrom branch comes to add up to the bank’s already-existing eighteen branches in the Western & Central Region.
The two hour inaugural ceremony saw various stakeholders, board of directors, and other notable personalities as special invited guests.
Mr. Benjamin Afful – Eshun, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in an interview with Microfinance Watch TV revealed that the primary reason for the new Tanokrom branch is to ease the congestion they faced in their old site when transacting business with their customers, and also expand their services. He added that it was befitting to build a new office for the Tanokrom branch because they form a great pillar of the bank.
In response to the security measures put in place to ensure there is effective security for the customers in and around the bank, Mr. Augustine Beakana, Head of Credit & Risk Department stated that all branches of the bank are inundated with policemen and security officers to ensure the safety of the customers. The CEO also reiterated that they have incorporated electronic banking into their transactions to enable members make cashless transactions, which are not viable to theft and robbery.
As part of the inauguration, he introduced the
Mobile App Banking as the bank’s new product. He stated that the need for this is to bring convenience in their business transactions and also and also enable customers to make transactions irrespective of where they are; thus facilitating accessibility.
The 30th Annual General Meeting of the bank which was held on 21st July, 2018 brought the various shareholders and stakeholders together to consider and adopt the Statement of Accounts for the 2017 Financial Year at Baidoo-Bonsu Senior High School in Agona-Nkwanta.
